Policies

Terms for the Refractionist programme.

These terms apply to every applicant and enrolled student of IndieEyes Vision Academy, Behala. They sit with the application, the student identity card and the certificates we issue.

Operator: IndieEyes Online Services (OPC) Private Limited, CIN U47912WB2024OPC270559. In academic collaboration with Grow My India. Campus: 22/1, Brojomani Debya Road, Behala, Kolkata 700061. Call 011 6931 3257, WhatsApp or write to academy@indieeyes.com. Hours Monday–Saturday, 10:00–18:00.

Enrolment

Submitting an application does not confirm a seat. A seat is confirmed only after faculty accept the file, the course fee is received, and the documents uploaded with the application have been verified. Live classes are online. You do not bring papers to Behala unless faculty ask for a clearer copy.

Entry is a pass in 10+2 or equivalent and a minimum age of 18. No prior medical or optical background is required.

You study either fully at Behala, or with the course month live online and the internship on campus. There is no mixed section. Laboratory and clinic are never taught through a screen. If you cannot attend the scheduled Behala internship, you may still apply; faculty will schedule a later campus block when you can travel.

Fees and refunds

The course fee is ₹11,999 inclusive of GST at 18%. One payment, for the 1-month course. There is no second tuition for the internship. The first three internship months are unpaid. The last three are paid by the host practice; that wage is not part of this fee and is not a job offer.

Settlement is only to the company current account of IndieEyes Online Services (OPC) Private Limited. Keep the receipt and invoice issued in Student OS.

The fee is non-refundable once admission is confirmed, including withdrawal, discontinuation or non-completion, except a credit note issued by an administrator with a recorded reason. Satisfy yourself as to suitability before confirming admission.

Attendance

Faculty take a classroom register at Behala and a live register for online theory. One mark per student, per session, per date.

Present and late count toward attendance. Certificates after the unpaid internship (month 4) and after the paid internship (month 7) need combined attendance of at least 75% and the course fee clear.

Students may view their calendar and percentages in Student OS → Attendance. Queries go to faculty, not the public site.

Student ID and certificates

The student identity card is trainee identity for the programme. It is not a licence, registration or authority to practise independently.

Certificates record completion of a vocational training programme. They are not a degree, licence or registration, and do not authorise independent clinical practice, the diagnosis of disease, or the prescribing of any correction. The programme completion certificate is issued jointly by IndieEyes Vision Academy and Grow My India.

Director, Centre Head and (for module certificates) Faculty marks are applied from uploaded signatures in Centre admin. Students download the issued card and certificates from Student OS. Verification is by the code printed on the sheet.

Conduct and clinic

All patient-facing activity during the internship is under the direct supervision of qualified personnel, within a defined scope of practice. Candidates assist and practise under supervision. They do not diagnose, prescribe, or attend patients unsupervised.

Informed consent is obtained for all training activity involving patients. Hygiene, confidentiality and professional conduct are assessed.

The academy may pause Student OS access while an instalment is overdue, or if a written warning for conduct is on file.

Placement

Placement assistance is provided to eligible candidates through IndieEyes, Grow My India and partner organisations.

Assistance does not constitute a guarantee of employment, which remains subject to performance, conduct, interview outcome and the availability of vacancies.

Records

The academy holds your application, attendance, fee ledger, identity photograph (original and ID-card crop), certificates and mail in order to run the programme and issue vocational records.

You upload a recent passport-style photograph from your camera or gallery. The academy crops it to the student ID. Photographs are used for admission records, student identification, training administration, the Student ID Card and certificates. Write to the office to correct a record.

Apply only if you accept these terms.
